I've always been a lover of Disney, be it the films or going to a park. Having already visited 3 parks (Hong Kong, Florida and Paris) my mission is to attend them all some day.

Here are the small ways I have incorporated Disney in to our home.

Disney mugs

Is it me or does tea taste a little bit better out of a Disney mug? Since drinking tea (which has only been a few years) I can't not buy a Disney mug when I go to Disneyland.

Plant pot

Another cute way to use your Disney mug in your home is to use it as a plant pot. This mug is a really small mug and I used to use it when I wasn't a big lover of tea so don't need it anymore. I bought this mini succulent from IKEA the other day and it fits perfectly.

Be our guest wifi sign

I really wanted to incorporate Disney in to the guest room and saw this idea on Pinterest so decided to replicate it.

Bowls

Even before I bought a house I was collecting plates and bowls for our house. These are my favourite bowls and I love that they are not obvious Disney bowls. They are perfect for a little snack in the house.

This is also a super handy size bowl which is great for chips and dip and also fruit.

Pens

Love these pens which I bought from Disneyland, they jazz up the office desk and I do all my wedding planning with the Minnie pen!

Shot glass

This is my favourite shot glass that I have ever bought. I bought this shot glass in Hong Kong and it sits on our gin shelf. I put it there so that I could use the shot glass to pour the gin but I don't usually use a shot glass anymore I just estimate :).

Tea towel

When I saw this tea towel in Cath Kidson I couldn't leave it there. We have a grey kitchen so it fits in perfectly. I love the design of it and I almost didn't want to use it because it is so pretty!

I hope you enjoyed reading about my Disney decor.

We have worked on a few toolbox upcycle projects recently. When I was researching I found lots of good ideas so thought I would share some of my favourite ones on here.

1. Side unit

This is one of my projects that I have worked on over lockdown. It's an unusual shaped toolbox and it took me a while to figure out what to do with it but we have made a side unit and shelf out of it.

Here is what I did with the toolbox:

  1. Take off the lid

  2. Fixed repairs with wood glue - I used Gorilla glue

  3. Sanded down wood with a hand sander using 50 grit/80 grit/120 grit

  4. Wiped down with a homemade wood cleaner (Add 1 cup water/1 cup oil/ 1 tbsp of oil to a spray bottle)

  5. Apply 2 coats of Colron Refined Beeswax in natural with an old rag (read instructions on tin)

  6. Attached 4 hair pin legs to the corners of the bottom of the toolbox

  7. Attached the lid to the wall

2. Bathroom Storage

Kim over at Salvaged living took an old toolbox and made it in to storage for a bathroom which I also love. Head over to her blog to find out what she did to get this look.

3. Bookcase

This is a really cute one. Using an old toolbox as a bookcase is a great way to showcase your books, even better if they are old books like this bookcase holder on Etsy. Head over to leapinglemming to check out and purchase this toolbox.

4. Condiment and cutlery holder

If you are anything like me, I get a bit put off eating outside because it's such an effort to bring everything outside! Cindy over at countryroad407 has come up with a solution with her toolbox upcycle. Using a toolbox to hold condiments, cutlery and plates is such an easy way to get everything out in one trip.

5. Art/craft storage

Another one of my projects during lockdown was my arts/craft storage using an old toolbox.

Here's what I did with the toolbox:

  1. Wash the toolbox with soapy water and a cloth

  2. Oiled the hinges because they were very stiff

  3. Repainted using Hammerite metal paint: Hammered Blue

  4. Add your craft bits

6. Planter

Love this idea too over at homeroad, Susan has made a planter out of her old toolbox. This would definitely brighten up a patio and is definitely something I would love to do! Head over to homeroad to find out how to turn your toolbox in to a planter.

7. Towel rail

How beautiful is this towel rail that Laura from Findinghomefarms has made out of an old toolbox. I love the way they have used the sections in the toolbox as shelves. The flowers and the mirror give it a real rustic feel too.

So there we have it, 7 toolbox upcycle ideas. Hope you enjoyed reading.

Not really a house related post today but I just wanted to document our would be wedding day. We had to postpone our wedding day this year due to Covid19 but still wanted to mark the occasion. So read on if you want to find out how we celebrated our would be wedding day..

1: Order a bunch of flowers from your florist

One of the things I was most excited about was to have flowers on my wedding day. I did order my own but in the end my bridesmaids actually ordered them for me. They were delivered in the morning and were beautiful! They were also a lovely addition to the table over the weekend. Our flowers are from Woodland farm and they are all grown in Pembrokeshire.

2: Order food from your caterer

This might not be possible for everyone but we were lucky that our caterer was doing takeaway boxes so we ordered them to be delivered to the house. We actually ordered one for Sunday too so we didn't need to worry about cooking. The graze boxes were amazing and full of everything we love which is why we have asked Graze with Jade to sort us out with our food for the wedding. If ordering food from your caterer isn't possible I would highly recommend ordering food so you don't have to cook. Lots of blogs say to cook your favourite meal and if you want to do that that's also fine but we were grateful to not have to worry about cooking over the weekend.

3: Invite family and friends over on a rota for prosecco

We had always said if the rules allowed it we would want to see our family and close friends on our would be wedding for a glass of prosecco. We put together a little rota to stagger people calling over and it worked well as not everyone turned up at the same time which was my worry. It was a perfect excuse to catch up with people too :).

4: Enjoy the day after too

If you were getting married the day after would have been part of the celebration too so make sure you enjoy that day and do something nice together. We met up with some friends who we hadn't seen for ages and roamed the streets of St Davids eating ice cream and catching up. We then went to the beach just the two of us and had a little gin and tonic and a cookie, it was such a nice day and the sea was so clear. Finished the day off with a sea swim and a visit to the place we are going to get married.

5: Document your weekend

I kinda did this but wish I had taken more photos on Saturday but it was raining so I wasn't really feeling it. I have gotten really bad at taking photos at the moment but we made up for it on the Sunday and we did take a selfie in the place where we will be getting married so I would recommend taking a photo of you both if you remember. It's just nice to look back on.

I hope if you were meant to be getting married this year you still have a lovely weekend, we certainly did. We are due to get married this time next year now so the countdown is on again!

Thanks for reading!
