5 ways to celebrate your would be wedding day

Not really a house related post today but I just wanted to document our would be wedding day. We had to postpone our wedding day this year due to Covid19 but still wanted to mark the occasion. So read on if you want to find out how we celebrated our would be wedding day..

1: Order a bunch of flowers from your florist

One of the things I was most excited about was to have flowers on my wedding day. I did order my own but in the end my bridesmaids actually ordered them for me. They were delivered in the morning and were beautiful! They were also a lovely addition to the table over the weekend. Our flowers are from Woodland farm and they are all grown in Pembrokeshire.

2: Order food from your caterer

This might not be possible for everyone but we were lucky that our caterer was doing takeaway boxes so we ordered them to be delivered to the house. We actually ordered one for Sunday too so we didn't need to worry about cooking. The graze boxes were amazing and full of everything we love which is why we have asked Graze with Jade to sort us out with our food for the wedding. If ordering food from your caterer isn't possible I would highly recommend ordering food so you don't have to cook. Lots of blogs say to cook your favourite meal and if you want to do that that's also fine but we were grateful to not have to worry about cooking over the weekend.

3: Invite family and friends over on a rota for prosecco

We had always said if the rules allowed it we would want to see our family and close friends on our would be wedding for a glass of prosecco. We put together a little rota to stagger people calling over and it worked well as not everyone turned up at the same time which was my worry. It was a perfect excuse to catch up with people too :).

4: Enjoy the day after too

If you were getting married the day after would have been part of the celebration too so make sure you enjoy that day and do something nice together. We met up with some friends who we hadn't seen for ages and roamed the streets of St Davids eating ice cream and catching up. We then went to the beach just the two of us and had a little gin and tonic and a cookie, it was such a nice day and the sea was so clear. Finished the day off with a sea swim and a visit to the place we are going to get married.

5: Document your weekend

I kinda did this but wish I had taken more photos on Saturday but it was raining so I wasn't really feeling it. I have gotten really bad at taking photos at the moment but we made up for it on the Sunday and we did take a selfie in the place where we will be getting married so I would recommend taking a photo of you both if you remember. It's just nice to look back on.

I hope if you were meant to be getting married this year you still have a lovely weekend, we certainly did. We are due to get married this time next year now so the countdown is on again!

Thanks for reading!
