Hi guys, Autumn is here and I must admit, I'm enjoying the cosier evenings. I'd say autumn is my second favourite season of the year after summer. I wanted to add an autumn vibe to my home decor this year but wanted to do it on a budget. Here are some of the ideas that I have found online:
1. Autumn prints
I wanted to update some of my photo frames to give our living room a more autumnal vibe.
I had a look on Etsy and purchased some Autumn themed illustrations. Here are the ones I purchased from RedDogStudioShop.
The illustrations cost £6.89 and there were so many different illustrations. I have just made these on Microsoft Word and printed them off. I will be adding them to frames I already have.
2. Autumn wreath
Here is the autumn wreath that I made last year. Great activity to do with the kids too as it's not messy and doesn't involve and potentially dangerous tools like a glue gun like most wreaths do. Click here for instructions.
3. Leaf bowl
Love this bowl made out of leaves. Have a look over at Craft Unleashed to find out how to do this. I feel like this is something that if I attempted to do it would not turn out as good as this!! To make this even cheaper you could try it with real leaves.
4. Fireplace garland
After a successful Christmas garland I want to try an autumnal wreath. I'm hoping to get out into nature to find things like pinecones, branches, accorns, etc to make a garland this autumn. I'm also going to head to Aldi/Lidl to get some small pumpkins. I used them last year and they lasted for ages! Will upload my finished garland to Instagram.
5. Painted pumpkins
Love the colours that these pumpkins have been painted in over at DIY with my guy. Love that they can be reused each year too.
6. Pumpkin table centrepiece
Jessica Welling Interiors has come up with a beaut of a centrepiece using pumpkins, foliage and pine cones. So simple but so good. Click here to find out how to achieve this look. I spotted white pumpkins in Aldi the other day FYI.
7. Wall hanging
Another crafty one. Get out on a walk and find a good looking stick and some leaves then head over to the Savvy sparrow to find out how to make this autumnal wall hanging.
8. Coloured Wrapped Wheat
I think this is a cute and very simple way to add a bit of colour to your home this Autumn, click here to find out how I did this. Honestly it's so easy to do!
9. Fabric Pumpkins
Cora over at @haus.no49 and sukiandpink shared this project on Instagram the other day. She has also put together a tutorial video of how to make these fabric pumpkins. I much prefer having a video to watch when doing DIY crafts. Hopefully one day I'll be confident to do some of my own. I'm hoping to have a go at making my own fabric pumpkins in the next few weeks. Click here for the tutorial. Cora actually has a few other autumnal decor ideas so definitely check out her Instagram and blog for more.
10. Conker wreath
Lucy over at @victoria_road_restoration and victorianroadteam.co.uk is so crafty and is currently filming some crafty tiktoks which I am loving! Here is her latest one with conkers picked from her garden. I seriously recommend giving her an insta follow. She is the definition of house and garden goals!
11. Pampas grass wreath
Another DIY wreath that could be done very easily on a budget if you have pampas grass in your garden. My neighbour does and I'm so tempted to go over and see if i could have a few. Head over to A beautiful mess to find out how to create this wreath.
12. Pumpkin succulent arrangement
Save the best till last. Absolutely love this idea that I found on simplyhappenstance.com! I might give it a go this autumn or maybe try to grown some more succulents and do it next year with all home grown succulents. It actually looks quite easy to do and once the pumpkin has gone off you can take the succulents out and replant! I'm definitely going to be following this step by step guide here as it seems very easy to follow.
Hope this has inspired you to add a little autumnal decor to your home. I'd love to know if you have any of your own ideas for autumn decor.
